How to create an AI voice assistant using Conveyr
Overview
Each AI is built using features that match its purpose. For example, if you are creating an AI that needs to understand and respond to your internal company data, you would choose to connect it with your knowledge base. On the other hand, if you are building a simple assistant to answer common customer questions, you would likely start with a basic chat flow and a few prompt instructions.
To start off you'll need to login to the dashboard and then head to the Assistants page on the left side of the website
From here you have two options Start from scratch and a we will be using Choose a template for now. There will be a guide on how make an ai assistant using Start from scratch later.
After you hit the Choose a template button you'll be greeted with a wide variety of options of ai assistants to choose from. Hit Select on the template that best suits your needs and continue.
First up is the Configuration section. Here, you can adjust key settings like your AI avatar’s Image, Name, and Language (language support coming soon).
You’ll also find the Voice setting, which lets you choose how your AI sounds during conversations. Most options are straightforward and easy to tweak.
Scroll down on the Configuration page to find more settings. Currently, the only available AI Model is OpenAI 4.0, but more options are coming soon.
You’ll also see Vocabulary and Sensitive Data Storage (Recordings). To learn what these do, just hover over the purple question mark next to each setting.
Advanced voice settings come with many options, but each one has a helpful explanation just hover over the purple question mark next to it.
Ambient Sounds are background sounds played during AI calls. To test them, click the pencil icon, choose a sound, and hit the play button next to the setting.
To test your AI avatar's voice, click the Talk with (AI name) button, mine's Gilfroy. This lets you hear how the voice sounds using the settings you've adjusted.
At the bottom of the section, you can enter a phone number and hit Call to hear your AI on a regular phone call. Adding your name is optional—the AI will ask for it anyway.
To assign a number to your AI, use the Select phone number option. You can buy numbers from the Phone numbers section on the left side of the page.
Next is the Prompt, the key to customizing your AI avatar’s personality. The preset matches the profession you picked, but you can tweak it anytime.
